Who We Are

We are Luxcara, an independent asset manager collaboratively working to build meaningful returns for our institutional investors that empower positive change. Our visionary approach to the international clean energy infrastructure market is backed by our history of empathetic, long lasting, and successful partnerships. Our expertise is not just in managing assets but in carefully handling every aspect that contributes to their value – from technology, construction, and location to strategy, financing, and operations. We operate with expertise, confidence, and compassion.

A History of Trust

Luxcara was founded in 2009 by the Senior Managing Partners Alexandra von Bernstorff and Kathrin Oechtering. The company remains 100% independent and management-owned. In 2011, Marc Brehm and Philip Sander joined Luxcara and later became Managing Partners. The combined track record of Luxcara accounts for more than 100 successful clean energy transactions.

Project Aura

As part of the Markbygden wind cluster, the largest aggregation of wind farms in Europe and the only infrastructure project called of national importance by the Swedish government, the Önusberget Wind Farm is Europe's largest single onshore wind project with more than 750 MW installed capacity. Acquired in 2019, construction swiftly began to erect 137 turbines by 2022. Located in northern Sweden, less than 150 km south of the Arctic Circle, the freezing Arctic winter winds imposed harsh restrictions on the installation schedule. But thanks to a unique de-icing system the wind farm can harvest the powerful winds also during the snow and ice season. Preserving the natural environment and therefore the location’s inherent beauty is a top priority. Strict environmental guidelines have been adhered to at all stages of the project. With the capacity to power the equivalent of 600,000 Swedish households for a full year, Project Aura can save close to 1,000,000 tons of CO₂ over its lifetime.
